1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions:
- "We," "Us," "Our," or "Nocturne" refers to the horological service practice operating at No. 144, Changchun Road, Zhongshan District, Taipei City 104, Taiwan.
- "Client," "You," or "Your" refers to the individual or entity requesting horological services.
- "Services" refers to watch repair, maintenance, restoration, and related horological work provided by Nocturne.
- "Timepiece" or "Watch" refers to the mechanical watch entrusted to our care for service.
- "Proposal" refers to the written service estimate provided before work commences.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By engaging our services or using our website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.
These terms constitute a binding legal agreement between you and Nocturne.
3. Service Description
Nocturne provides professional horological services including:
- Case-back repair and replacement
- Comprehensive caliber servicing
- Prestige watch transformation and restoration
- Movement regulation and timing
- Component inspection and replacement
- Water resistance testing
- Related horological work as agreed in service proposals
Services are performed by certified horological technicians following manufacturer specifications and professional standards.
4. Service Process
4.1 Initial Assessment
Upon receiving your timepiece, we conduct an initial examination and provide a written service proposal detailing recommended work, estimated timeline, and associated costs.
4.2 Client Approval
Work proceeds only after you have approved the service proposal. Approval may be provided in writing, via email, or through verbal confirmation with subsequent written confirmation.
4.3 Additional Work
If additional issues are discovered during service, we will contact you before proceeding with any work beyond the approved proposal. Additional charges apply to work not included in the original proposal.
4.4 Timeline
Service timelines are estimates based on typical procedures. Actual completion may vary depending on parts availability, component condition, or unforeseen complications. We will notify you of significant timeline changes.
5. Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information about the timepiece and any known issues
- Ensuring you have authority to authorize service for the timepiece
- Responding to service communications in a timely manner
- Collecting completed timepieces within 30 days of notification
- Making payment in accordance with agreed terms
- Reviewing completed work upon collection and raising concerns promptly
6. Payment Terms
6.1 Pricing
Service fees are specified in the approved proposal. All prices are stated in New Taiwan Dollars (NT$) and include applicable taxes.
6.2 Payment Methods
We accept cash, bank transfer, and major credit cards. Payment is due upon collection of the completed timepiece unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing.
6.3 Deposits
For prestige transformation services or expensive component orders, we may require a deposit before commencing work. Deposit amounts and terms will be specified in the service proposal.
6.4 Late Collection
Timepieces not collected within 30 days of completion notification may incur storage fees. We reserve the right to exercise legal remedies for abandoned property after 90 days.
7. Service Warranty
7.1 Scope
We warrant our workmanship against defects for a period specified in your service documentation. This warranty covers only issues directly related to the work we performed.
7.2 Exclusions
The warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear from regular use
- Damage from accidents, misuse, or unauthorized service
- Issues unrelated to the service performed
- Water damage if water resistance was not part of the service
- Cosmetic wear to case, crystal, or bracelet after delivery
- Timing variation beyond manufacturer specifications for the caliber
7.3 Warranty Service
If a warranty issue arises, return the timepiece to us with your service documentation. We will assess the issue and provide appropriate remedy at no charge if covered under warranty.
8. Disclaimers
8.1 Service Results
While we employ professional techniques and proper materials, we cannot guarantee specific timing performance or longevity results. Mechanical watches are subject to various factors affecting performance.
8.2 Vintage Timepieces
Service of vintage watches carries inherent risks due to age, component availability, and previous interventions. We will discuss specific considerations during the assessment process.
8.3 Parts Availability
While we maintain relationships with component suppliers, we cannot guarantee availability of specific parts, particularly for discontinued or vintage calibers.
8.4 Professional Advice
Recommendations provided regarding service frequency, care, or value are professional opinions and should not be construed as guarantees.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Our liability for any service-related claim is limited to the amount paid for that specific service
- We are not liable for consequential, indirect, or incidental damages
- We are not liable for sentimental or emotional value of timepieces
- Claims must be made in writing within 30 days of discovering the issue
- Our liability does not extend to issues caused by factors beyond our control
These limitations apply regardless of the form of action, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on our website, including text, images, logos, and design elements, is the property of Nocturne or our licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use this content without written permission.
11. Privacy and Data Protection
We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable Taiwan data protection laws. By using our services, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Termination
12.1 Client Termination
You may terminate service before completion by providing written notice. You will be responsible for payment for work completed to the date of termination and any non-refundable costs incurred.
12.2 Our Termination
We reserve the right to terminate service if: the timepiece cannot be serviced safely, required parts are unavailable, payment is not provided as agreed, or you breach these terms.
13. Dispute Resolution
13.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan, Republic of China.
13.2 Jurisdiction
Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Taipei, Taiwan.
13.3 Informal Resolution

14. General Provisions
14.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with service proposals and the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Nocturne regarding our services.
14.2 Severability
If any provision is found unenforceable, remaining provisions remain in full effect.
14.3 Waiver
Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
14.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with business transfer or sale.

Notices should be sent to the contact information provided below. Notices to you may be sent to the address or email provided during service registration.
15. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms periodically. Changes become effective upon posting to our website. Material changes will be communicated via email or website notice. Continued use of services after changes constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
